Fall Celebration

E3_sugarloaf_mtn_cd4_2Here in Michigan, the trees are beginning to show their fall colors. We're layering up with jackets again while visiting our favorite apple orchards for cider, doughnuts, hayrides and corn mazes. And the pumpkins are everywhere!

As we notice these changes, SallySpeak has also changed. We now average over 150 visitors a day and the highest visitor count so far is 287! This is a huge change from our original 10-15 visitors. We've received numerous questions, comments and suggestions and have responded to every one of them within 48 hours.

Your voices are important to us and we appreciate your involvement to help make Sally Foster better. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

We Have a Winner!

By: Carrie Shamo

If you submit a Clever Idea to us at SallySpeak and we like it, you will receive a free gift!

Andrea Kelly is our first recipient for our Clever Idea submissions! Here is Andrea's Clever Idea:

My husband's grandmother is 95 years old and lives in an assisted living facility. Her room is tiny, and for safety reasons she isn't supposed to cook, take tub baths, or light candles. This greatly limits what kind of gifts would be appropriate: preferably something consumable so as not to clutter up her home, but nothing like bath salts or food to reheat. No brick-and-mortar gift cards. She really doesn't get out shopping often and needs few new items. No online gift cards. I don't think she ever goes online.

A few years ago I stumbled onto a gift that we now give her every year: a box of all-occasion cards like these: All-Occasion Greeting Cards

and some blank cards like these:  Scalloped Note Cards

along with a roll of stamps:Got Stamps?

and a bunch of return-address labels that I print out for her. She really seems to appreciate this gift because she doesn't get out to buy special-occasion cards, but she does like to correspond with her friends and relatives. For Sally Foster shoppers with someone in assisted living on their gift lists, this might be the answer to their gift-giving problems.

Thanks, Andrea for the great Clever Idea!

If It Were Up to Me...

By: Carrie Shamo

We think SallyFoster.com is pretty darn awesome! But, we also know that there are always things we can change to make it even more awesome.

We are beginning to review SallyFoster.com to make it better, and we need your help!

Please post to this thread your suggestions and ideas for SallyFoster.com. Here are some things to think about:

  • Overall design, look and feel (colors/fonts/navigation bars)
  • Finding products on the site
  • Contacting support
  • Giving credit to a school or group
  • Moving from page to page
  • The shopcart: adding/removing items
  • Checkout: billing/shipping/confirmation screens

If it were up to you, what would you do with SallyFoster.com?

Success for Thomas Jefferson Elementary

By: Carrie Shamo

Tj_elementary It always amazes me what you can find on the web.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary in Little Rock, Arkansas posted on their school website an article regarding their success with their Sally Foster fundraiser.

Students who sold at least 25 items, plus siblings who sold at least 10 additional items, were treated to a 20-minute limo ride!

Leave us your comments about your Sally Foster fundraiser experience and any stories you have to share.

Black and White and Where's Laura?

By: Carrie Shamo

Laura_g

It never occured to us that some of you may be wearing our wrapping paper! Well, not the actual paper.

But when Laura from Sally Foster's Customer Service came to work, we placed our Hi-Gloss Black and White Gift Wrap behind her and POOF! She vanished! Hmm... maybe I should try that trick.

How many of you have clothes that match our gift wrap designs?

Email us a photo of you "wearing" our gift wrap designs and we'll send you a free gift! Plus, we'll post the photo here on SallySpeak. Make sure we can see you and the gift wrap in the photo.

It does not have to be a design from this year - any of our gift wrap designs will do!

In the email please provide:

  1. Your name
  2. City and State

Please review our Photograph/Video Policy before sending your submissions to contactus@sallyfoster.com.

We can't wait to see your photos!

Visit the New Clearance Center

By: Carrie Shamo

Sfcom_with_clearance_5 When the Sally Rappers completed their surveys this past summer, many of them left comments saying that it would be great if we offered some of our products at a discount. This would allow many Sally Foster fans to make a purchase given today's economy, and still be able to support a school or group.

Today, Sally Foster has opened the new Clearance Center

This is your chance to buy 2007 and older Sally Foster products with a 50% discount. We are offering bargain bundles of ribbons, bows and tags, bags and gift totes, a cooking solution set and much more!

Clearance_button_3 Click on the big, red "Clearance" button to see our selections.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sally Foster is going GREEN!

By: Robin DeRyckere

Sally Foster Goes GREENWe keep receiving questions regarding how Sally Foster is addressing eco-friendly solutions with our products. I am reposting this article so it doesn't get too buried.

Look for this symbol (coming soon) on our Legendary Giftwraps landing page. Soon, we will have a link to our Help page listing the same information I am giving you here.

I’m happy to share some areas we’re working on in the world of eco-friendly products and the direction for Sally Foster in the near future.

  1. 22 of our premium giftwrap papers are printed on recycled stock containing a minimum of 10% post consumer waste.
  2. Our giftwrap is printed with water compliant inks that contain no ozone-depleting chemicals, no lead or other heavy materials.
  3. Our giftwrap cores are not glued and are made of heavy board that unwinds making it possible to use for craft projects once your giftwrap is gone.
  4. Our giftwraps are acid-free.
  5. Over 78% of our giftwrap papers are recyclable & biodegradable.
  6. Sally Foster has made a concerted effort to decrease the amount of plastic used in our fulfillment process.
  7. Our catalogs are recyclable and the inks used to print them are soy based*.
  8. Our shipping boxes are biodegradable & can be recycled. And, use water based adhesives.
  9. We reuse our pallets; and we bundle and recycle all our excess cardboard.
  10. *Soy based inks are more environmentally friendly, healthy and provide a safe approach to printing that only takes a small amount of energy to make.

I’m anxious to hear what each of you has to say, and what your needs and wants are, as they relate to our fundraising program and Sally Foster. Thanks in advance for your insights and what I know will be extremely valuable comments.

You're Asking The Impossible!

By: Robin DeRyckere

Do I have to pick just one????  I have many that I love!

S025I really like the “Wrist Pouch” because I walk every morning with my girlfriends and it’s a great way to be “hands-free”, but still be able to carry my house key and money. S126_2

I also love the "25th Anniversary Edition of the Silver Palate Cookbook".   I love to cook and love cookbooks just as much.  This book has great pictures and easy recipes!!

S036

I think the “Today, Tomorrow, Whenever Reminder Pad” is fun and clever, but very useful.    I want to have one at my desk for work and by the phone in my kitchen – and probably by my nightstand.
